What we collect

We only collect information you choose to give us through the forms on this site.

• When you request a quote: your name, phone number, your town, and any email address and project details you provide.
• When you submit a review: your name, your town, your email address, your star rating, the review you write, and your choice about whether we may publish it.

We do not use cookies, analytics, tracking, or advertising. This website does not track you, does not build a profile of you, and does not follow you across other sites. Our web host may keep basic technical logs (such as an IP address and browser type) for security and to keep the site running, which is standard for any website.

Why we collect it

We use your information only to respond to you: to prepare and discuss a quote, to contact you about your project, and — for reviews — to verify the review is genuine and, if you've given permission, to publish it on this site. We do not use your information for any other purpose.

Who else is involved

Running a website means relying on a few service providers. We share your information with them only as needed to operate this site and reply to you:

• Formspree receives what you type into a form and emails it to Art. Formspree's servers are in the United States.
• Vercel hosts this website.
• Google (Gmail) is where Art receives and keeps your message.
• Google Fonts provides the typefaces this site uses. When your browser loads a page, it requests those fonts from Google, which means Google receives your IP address. Google does not receive anything you type into a form.

We never sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone other than the providers above.

Information stored outside Canada

Some of the providers above (including Formspree and Google) store or process data on servers outside Canada, such as in the United States. While information is in another country, it may be accessible to that country's courts, law enforcement, and government under its laws. By using the forms on this site, you understand that your information may be handled this way.

Your consent

When you send a quote request, you consent to Art using your information to reply and to work with you. When you submit a review, it is only published if you tick the box giving permission — and even then, only your first name, last initial and town are shown. Your email address is never published. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting Art.

How long we keep it

Art keeps quote requests for as long as needed to do the work and to keep reasonable business records, and then deletes them. A review you've allowed us to publish stays on the site until you ask us to take it down.

Your rights

Under PIPEDA, you can ask to see the personal information Art holds about you, ask to correct it, or ask to have it deleted. Just contact Art using the details above and he'll take care of it. If you're ever not satisfied with how your information has been handled, you have the right to complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information you share. That said, no method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security. If your enquiry is sensitive, you're always welcome to phone Art instead.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we'll change the effective date at the top of the page. Please check back from time to time.
